Corporate AI training in Canada: what works, how it is priced, and what to ask for.
If your company has paid for an AI session and cannot point to a piece of work that runs differently because of it, this guide is for you. It compares the formats on offer, explains how each one is priced and what moves a quote, and shows what to ask so the next session changes Monday.
What does corporate AI training cost in Canada?
Corporate AI training in Canada is sold under a handful of pricing models: free vendor webinars, per-seat public courses, private workshops priced per session, workflow-specific private workshops priced as one fixed engagement that includes preparation and follow-up, and multi-week advisory programs on a retainer or fixed scope. Other providers' prices vary widely within each model, driven by preparation, customization, follow-up, group size, travel and who is leading the room, so ask for a scoped quote and compare what it includes. Get Clear's format, The AI Workflow Day, is a fixed-price private team engagement that starts at $12,500 CAD. Training changes the work only when it uses the team's real tasks and leaves one workflow running.
Training formats compared
- Vendor webinar or product demo: 45 to 60 minutes. Priced: Free. The vendor is paid when you buy the tool. Changes the work: rarely.
- Keynote or lunch-and-learn: 45 to 90 minutes. Priced: Flat speaking fee per session, plus travel. Quoted by the speaker. Changes the work: rarely.
- Public course or online cohort: 2 to 8 weeks, part time. Priced: Per seat. Published on the provider's site; the total scales with headcount. Changes the work: sometimes.
- Private half-day workshop: 3 to 4 hours. Priced: Flat session fee, usually with a group-size cap. Quoted on the level of customization. Changes the work: sometimes.
- Private one-day workshop, generic curriculum: 1 day. Priced: Flat day rate, plus travel. Little preparation is included, so the quote is mostly facilitator time. Changes the work: sometimes.
- Private one-day workshop built on your workflow, with prep and follow-up: 1 day plus 2 to 3 weeks of prep and a 30-day check-in. Priced: Fixed engagement price covering preparation, the day, written output and follow-up. The AI Workflow Day starts at $12,500 CAD. Changes the work: usually.
- Multi-week program or embedded advisor: 4 to 16 weeks. Priced: Retainer or fixed scope. Quoted on weeks of senior time and the number of departments involved. Changes the work: usually.
What moves the price
- Preparation. Interviews, a workflow survey, and a look at your tools before anyone stands in front of the room. Skip it and the day runs on the facilitator's examples instead of yours.
- Customization. A generic deck costs nothing to deliver twice. A day built on your documents, your handoffs and your approvals costs real hours to design.
- Follow-up. A check-in a few weeks later is where the workflow gets adjusted and kept. It is a small part of the engagement and the one most often left out.
- Group size and mix. Private formats are usually priced per engagement, not per seat. What moves the quote is how many distinct workflows are in the room. One team with one workflow gets further than forty people from six departments.
- Delivery location. On-site days across Canada add travel. Remote delivery works well for document and communication workflows and removes that line.
- Who is leading it. A facilitator who has built and shipped software prices differently from a trainer working from a licensed curriculum. You are paying for judgement about what is worth doing.
What good AI training delivers
- One of your own recurring workflows running with AI assistance before the day ends
- Written instructions and a prompt set your team can use without the facilitator
- Practical safe-use rules: what goes into AI tools, what stays out, how output gets checked
- A ranked list of the next opportunities, scored on value, risk and difficulty
- A dated plan for the next 90 days with a named owner for each step
- A follow-up session to fix what drifted
Questions to ask a training provider
- Can you show me the agenda for a day you ran for a company like ours, with the tool names removed?
- What do you need from us before the day, and how many hours will that take our people?
- Will we have something working at the end of the day, and what does working mean to you?
- Who writes the SOP and prompt set, you or us, and in what format do we receive it?
- What happens if the workflow we picked turns out to be a poor fit halfway through the morning?
- How do you handle privacy and safe-use, and will you say plainly what is outside your scope?
- What does follow-up look like, and is it included?
- If we want to implement the larger opportunity afterward, do we have to use you?
